The Integrated Biosecurity Indaba that has brought together cross-disciplinary stakeholders to cultivate a unified and proactive approach to biosecurity is underway at the Dohne Agricultural Research Institute.

This strategic dialogue led by the Departmental of Agriculture saw experts, farmers and other stakeholders discussing promotion of cross-sectoral dialogue between veterinary, agriculturall academia, farmers and farmer’s organizations to achieve better awareness of biosecurity risks and best practices in plant and animal health.

A diverse group of stakeholders was identified to contribute their expertise on biosecurity strategies, and farmers actively engaged as key partners in shaping solutions for agricultural biosecurity in the Eastern Cape.
