The 59th South African Society for Agricultural Extension (SASEA) Conference officially commenced today at iUniversity Walter Sisulu, Potsdam Campus in kuGompo City bringing together agricultural extension practitioners, researchers and stakeholders from across South Africa.

The conference was officially opened by the President of the South African Society for Agricultural Extension (SASEA) and Eastern Cape Department of Agriculture official Mzomninzi Mdladlamba, alongside the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Professor Thembinkosi Modi.

Welcoming delegates on behalf of the Eastern Cape Department of Agriculture, Acting Head of Department Mfundo Macanda highlighted the critical role of collaboration among extension practitioners in advancing agricultural development and improving support to farmers across the country. He further encouraged delegates to continue sharing knowledge and best practices to strengthen extension services in their respective provinces.
Macanda officially declared the conference open on behalf of the MEC for Agriculture, Nonceba Kontsiwe, wishing delegates productive engagements over the course of the conference.
