BUILDING A CLIMATE-RESILIENT AGRICULTURAL FUTURE FOR THE EASTERN CAPE
Key agricultural and water-sector stakeholders met in Walmer, Gqeberha, for the Provincial Coordination Committee for Agricultural Water meeting, convened by the Eastern Cape Department of Agriculture in partnership with the National Department of Agriculture, the Department of Water and Sanitation, and the Eastern Cape Rural Development Agency (ECRDA).
The meeting focused on climate change adaptation, irrigation scheme revitalisation, water security, investment opportunities, renewable energy and financial sustainability.
The engagement reaffirmed the importance of intergovernmental collaboration in building a sustainable, productive and climate-resilient agricultural sector in the Eastern Cape.
